Meta One for business starts at US$14.99 a month, which is about RM62 in Malaysia at RM4.15 to the dollar, and it is charged per business profile or phone number. Meta launched it on 15 September 2026 with four business plans: Essential, Advanced, Expert and Max. As of early October, Meta has not published ringgit prices, and Malaysian tech press reported two days after launch that it was not yet on sale here. So the useful question for a WhatsApp-first SME is not which plan to pick. It is which problem you would be paying to fix.

Key Takeaway

Meta One for business costs roughly RM62, RM207, RM618 or RM2,071 a month per WhatsApp number, converted from Meta's US dollar prices. It is sold for the WhatsApp Business app, and Meta says it changes nothing on the WhatsApp Business Platform (the API). Essential mainly buys a verified badge and more AI agent replies, and nobody we work with has asked us for the badge. Choose by the problem you want gone, and check what your own app offers before you budget for anything.

How much is Meta One for business in Malaysia?

Meta One for business costs from US$14.99 to US$499 a month, which converts to about RM62 to RM2,071 a month. These are Meta's global starting prices from its launch announcement (Meta, 15 September 2026). The ringgit figures below are our conversion at RM4.15 to the dollar. They are not an official Malaysian price list, because Meta has not published one.

PlanMeta's price (USD)About, per month (RM)About, per year (RM)
EssentialFrom $14.99RM62RM746
AdvancedFrom $49.99RM207RM2,490
ExpertFrom $149RM618RM7,420
MaxFrom $499RM2,071RM24,850

Two details change the maths. First, every price starts with the word "from". Meta states that "plans, benefits, pricing, and availability may vary by region, by app, and by account", so the number your app shows you may differ. Second, the price is not per business. On WhatsApp, Meta One is purchased per business profile or phone number (WhatsApp Business, 2026).

That second point is where owners will get caught. Take a tuition centre with branches in Subang Jaya, Puchong and Shah Alam, each with its own WhatsApp Business number. Essential on all three is about RM187 a month. Advanced on all three is about RM622 a month, or roughly RM7,470 a year. The sticker says RM62. The bill does not.

RM62 × numbers
Meta One is bought per business profile or phone number, so three WhatsApp numbers on Essential cost about RM187 a month (WhatsApp Business, 2026; converted at RM4.15)

What does each Meta One plan add to WhatsApp Business?

Essential adds a verified badge and more AI agent replies. Advanced adds team access, more linked devices and broadcast credits. Expert and Max add capacity. That is the whole ladder as Meta describes it, and the table below keeps to Meta's own wording.

PlanWhat Meta lists for WhatsAppWhat Meta has not published
EssentialVerified badge, verified channel on the WhatsApp Business app, impersonation protection, more access to Meta Business AgentHow many extra agent responses you get
AdvancedTeam access without sharing passwords, more linked devices, even more Business Agent responses, business broadcast creditsThe number of devices, seats or credits
ExpertHighest levels of feature access and Business Agent capacityWhat separates it from Max in practice
MaxHighest levels of feature access and Business Agent capacity, for teams managing at scaleThe capacity itself

Read the right-hand column twice. Meta Business Agent is the AI that answers customers inside the WhatsApp Business app. It is free up to an included monthly allowance, and Meta One plans add more responses on top. Meta has not published how many responses the free allowance covers or how many each plan adds. You are being asked to pick a tier of something whose size is not stated.

The badge also comes with a condition. Meta lists the verified badge, the verified channel and impersonation protection as pending successful verification. Paying for Essential does not hand you a badge on day one. Your business still has to pass Meta's check, which in Malaysia means your SSM details need to match what Meta has on file. Our guide to the WhatsApp verified badge in Malaysia walks through those documents.

Is Meta One available in Malaysia yet?

Not for everyone, and possibly not for you. Meta's announcement describes a global rollout, but SoyaCincau reported on 17 September 2026 that "Meta One is currently not available in Malaysia", which is why no official ringgit price exists (SoyaCincau, 2026). We have not seen an official Malaysian price list since.

The only reliable check is your own account. Open the WhatsApp Business app and look at what subscription plans it offers you, in which currency. If nothing is offered, it has not reached your account yet, and any RM figure you read online (including ours) is a conversion.

Three more facts from Meta's own pages are worth knowing before you tap anything:

There is a 7-day free trial, and the subscription starts automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel.
If you already pay for Meta Verified, Meta says nothing changes right now and it will notify subscribers when they can switch.
Meta One does not change WhatsApp Business Platform functionality or pricing, so API users are not affected.

Which problem are you paying Meta One to fix?

Most owners will compare the four tiers. We think that is the wrong comparison. The tiers are Meta's packaging. Your decision should start from the problem on your desk, then ask whether any tier touches it.

Here is what we have seen across the MSME sales teams we work with. Nobody has asked us for the verified badge. Not one. We cannot tell you what a badge changes in a customer's inbox, because we have not watched it happen. What owners do bring us is the same five complaints, in nearly the same words: leads scattered across channels, replies too slow, no proper follow-up, records that are hard to manage, and no way to see what the team is doing.

Put those five next to what Meta lists in the plans.

What owners tell usClosest Meta One featureWhat is still missing
Leads scattered across channelsNone listedOne place where WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and form leads land with their source
Replies too slowBusiness Agent responses (Essential and above)A published response allowance, and answers drawn from your own price lists and documents
No proper follow-upNone listedTimed follow-ups that pause when the customer replies
Records hard to manageNone listedCustom fields and a pipeline stage on every contact
Cannot see what the team is doingTeam access and more linked devices (Advanced)An owner on every chat and a log of who replied

More linked devices deserves a plain explanation. The free WhatsApp Business app already lets one phone and four linked devices share a number (WhatsApp Help Center). Advanced raises that ceiling by an amount Meta has not stated. More devices means more people can see the same chat. It does not decide who answers it. We covered that gap in detail in our post on multiple users on one WhatsApp Business number: the day five people can see a message is the day each of them assumes someone else replied.

Take a six-person property agency in Cheras running one number. On Advanced it pays about RM207 a month. All six negotiators can now open the inbox, and the AI agent answers the 11pm "still available?" message. On Monday morning the owner still cannot say which of Saturday's 40 enquiries got a second message. The plan bought seats. The problem was ownership.

This is not a Malaysian quirk. A clinic in Jakarta or a salon in Dubai faces the same split between an app upgrade and a sales process.

A quick read by business size

One person, one number. You answer every chat yourself and the AI agent covers the hours you sleep. If the free Business Agent allowance keeps running out before the month ends, Essential is the tier built for you. If it never runs out, Essential's main new thing is the badge, and you should be honest about whether a customer has ever asked you for one.

A small team on one number. Your trouble is rarely the number of seats. It is two people answering the same enquiry while a third enquiry sits unread. Advanced gives you more devices and team access, which helps the first half of that sentence and does nothing for the second. Budget for it only after you have agreed who owns which chat.

Several branches or several numbers. Do the multiplication before anything else. A subscription that looks small on one number becomes a real line in the budget across five, and at that size you are usually better served by one shared system than by five upgraded apps that do not talk to each other.

Do not start with the cheapest tier just to see

The usual advice with any subscription ladder is to start at the bottom and move up. Here the bottom tier is aimed at a different problem from the one most teams have. Start from the problem instead. If it is seats, Essential lists none and you will have paid a month to learn that.

Do I need Meta One if I use the WhatsApp API or a CRM?

No. Meta One is a subscription for the app side, and the API is billed a different way. Meta's own page says Meta One "does not change WhatsApp Business Platform functionality or pricing".

On the API you do not pay a monthly tier to Meta. You pay per message. Each number gets 1,000 free service replies a month and pays about RM0.06 for each reply after that, with marketing templates priced separately. Our breakdown of WhatsApp Business API pricing in ringgit has the full rate card. A one-number business that mostly answers incoming enquiries often stays inside the free allowance.

The two purchases also buy different things. Meta One upgrades one app on one number. A platform such as Raion HUB runs on the official WhatsApp Business API and sits above the chat: leads from ads and forms arrive tagged by source, an AI chatbot answers from the documents you upload, each lead is assigned to a person, and follow-ups run on a schedule until the customer replies. If your trouble is on the list of five above, that is the layer it lives on. If you want the broader picture first, start with our WhatsApp automation guide for Malaysian businesses.

Who should seriously consider Meta One, then? A solo operator who lives in the WhatsApp Business app, has one number, keeps running out of free AI agent replies, and has no team to coordinate. For that owner, Essential at about RM62 a month is a fair experiment, and the 7-day trial makes it cheap to test.

How to Decide if Meta One Is Worth It for Your Business

Check what your app actually offers. Open the WhatsApp Business app and look for Meta One plans. Note the currency and the price shown to your account, because Meta says both vary by region and account.
Count your numbers. Multiply the plan price by every WhatsApp number you would subscribe. Three numbers on Essential is about RM187 a month, not RM62.
Name the one problem you want fixed. Write it in a sentence. Slow replies at night, too few seats, and no follow-up are three different problems with three different fixes.
Match the problem to a feature Meta lists. Slow replies points to Business Agent responses. Too few seats points to Advanced. Follow-up, lead assignment and team visibility are not in any plan Meta has described.
Use the 7-day trial with a cancel date in your calendar. Watch whether your free Business Agent allowance was really running out, and cancel before day seven if the plan did not touch your problem.

No. Meta states that Meta One does not change WhatsApp Business Platform functionality or pricing. API users keep paying per message, with 1,000 free service replies per number each month and about RM0.06 per reply after that in Malaysia.

The bottom line

Key Takeaway

Meta One for business is an app-side subscription priced per WhatsApp number, from about RM62 to RM2,071 a month once you convert Meta's dollar prices. Its clearest benefits are a verified badge, more AI agent replies and more seats, and Meta has not said how many replies or seats each plan includes. If your real complaint is scattered leads, missing follow-up or not seeing what the team does, no tier addresses it, so name the problem first and buy second.
